Rustic Reef was born from a life lived between landscapes.

I was raised in Texas, surrounded by wide skies and the quiet strength of the American West. Years later, I found a different kind of belonging along the coastlines of Hawaiʻi. After more than seventeen years in the islands, I consider myself a grateful kamaʻāina — with deep respect for the culture, the land, and the ocean that continues to shape how I see the world.

Travel has always been an important part of my life. Wherever I go, I search for pieces I can wear that remind me of the experience — a ring from a market, earrings from a small coastal town, a necklace discovered on a quiet street far from home. Over time, these pieces have become more than jewelry. They are personal markers of where I’ve been and how those places made me feel.

I created Rustic Reef because I wanted to offer that same connection to others.

More than thirty years ago, I fell in love with the magic of Hawaiʻi. The ocean, the lava coastlines, the feeling of being both grounded and completely free. My designs are heirloom souvenirs — pieces meant to hold memory and meaning long after a journey ends.

Inspired by nature, scuba diving, travel, and the enduring spirit of western craftsmanship, I create jewelry that feels discovered rather than designed. Each piece reflects a moment I want to remember — standing at the edge of the tide, drifting weightless beneath the surface, or walking slowly along a rugged shoreline.
